In addition to attaching individual wires to structures, Linear Draft allows you to copy all wires associated with a structure and copy them to other structures along the same track.
To copy all wires (and any attached equipment – eg. Brackets, gallows, cantilevers) select the ‘Wire Copy’ button from the Linear Draft toolbar. Follow the prompts to select a source item.
Select a Source item means one of two things:
1. Select a Structure
2. Select a Wire Point
Both are explained below.
In the first example, option 1 'Select a Structure' will be demonstrated.
Select 'Source Item' (structure highlighted below)
Follow the prompt to select a structure to copy the wires to.
The examples below show the chain of events that will occur if the next structure along is chosen.
If you then want to copy again to the next structure along then you do not need to repeat the process, just choose the next structure and the wires will be copied again. This can be repeated as many times as you want. (Structures can also be bypassed and the wires will span across and not attach).
Each of the wires, wire points, brackets, gallows and cantilevers that are copied using the ‘Wire Copy’ function can all be edited individually by following the usual editing process.
The 2nd functionality of ‘Wire Copy’ is the ability to copy individual wires across to another structure along the same track.
There may be occasions when not all the wires are required to be copied across to the next structure and therefore selecting an individual wire is a great alternative.
To copy an individual wire, select 'Wire Copy' button from the Linear Draft toolbar and follow the prompt to select a source item.
In this instance, the source item will not be the structure as previously demonstrated, but it will be the wire point that you wish to copy.
In the example below, the wire being copied is a Positive Feeder Auxiliary Wire and the wire point is chosen by clicking on the attachment point.
Select the wire that you wish to copy and follow the prompt on screen to select the destination structure (a destination structure is the structure that you want to copy the wire to).
Below are screen shots showing the wire being attached to the following 2 structures.
