To copy a single structure to another location within a model, you will first need to place a marker at the new location.
Select ‘Structure Copy’ from the Linear Draft toolbar. Follow the prompts to select a structure to copy.
Choose a structure by clicking on the structure or by selecting the annotation box of a structure. Once a structure has been selected, MicroStation will then prompt you to select a marker (previously placed) to place the copied structure.
Select the marker (as above) and follow the prompt to select the left rail.
Left and right rail selection will define the orientation of the structure and its annotation box, therefore, the left and right rails must be chosen as if you were looking at the rails in direction of increasing chainage.
In the example below, the chainage is increasing from right to left.
Follow the next prompt to select the right rail
Accept the selection by left clicking the mouse button and the ‘Create Structure’ form will appear.
The information displayed in the 'Create Structure' form will be identical to the structure that you have copied. This is beneficial if the copied structure has specific detail that is different to the default settings in your project presets, however, you will be required to change certain information (e.g. the structure name and chainage) as they will not be updated automatically.
